Delicious Secret of Bled:The kremna rezina or creme cake, is the symbol of Bled cuisine, famous for several decades. You can buy them elsewhere, but there is only one genuine Bled kremna rezina. Istvan Lkacevic, former head of the Hotel Park confectionery shop, tested recipes for a long time and had success. Even today, kremna rezina made right here in this bakery and sold in the Kavarna, cafe opposite to the hotel, are famous. And what is the secret? Actually, there isn't one- it's experience that counts. And the cooks from Bled have plenty of experience. They never run out in Bled, since in the last 45 years, some 8 million kremshnit as they are colloquially called, have been made and sold. A golden baked base of puff pastry, made with butter and not margarine, sweet delicious vanilla cream, thickened just right, with just the right amount of flour since it's not as good if there's too much, and the filling collapses on being cut if there's too little. It's topped with whipped cream and then another layer of puff pastry, and sprinkled with icing sugar.
